The Riverdale Share Concert looks for a new home!
After 17 consecutive years at the Danforth Music Hall, the Riverdale Share Concert is looking for a new home. The opening of what it hopes will be a long-running production of The Toxic Avenger on October 31st, will also mark the closing of the venue’s longest running traditions. Every December for the past 17 years the Riverdale neighbourhood has flocked to the Danforth Music Hall to celebrate their sense of community while raising money for those less fortunate.
“We considered their offer to move our show to the Monday evening and to build a stage in front of the current stage, covering the first four rows of seats, but in the end the cost was just too prohibitive. We would rather see that money go back into the community that we serve. We are very close to settling on a new venue and we are very excited about what will become our new home. Look for an announcement around the end of September!” said Susan Baker, the Executive director of the Riverdale Share Community Association.
